Smaller Classes
Another appeal in attending a community college is the smaller classes. Many students don’t learn well in a classroom of 200 – 300 students, which is typical for some required freshman classes at many large 4-year institutions. Class sizes at community colleges range from less than 10 (for specialized courses) to 20 – 30 students (for university transfer courses). The smaller class size allows for more individualized instruction and attention that students may not receive on larger campuses.
