Job Opportunities in High Demand Career Fields
Completing a degree, diploma, or certificate in an occupational area at a community or technical college is one of the best ways to be prepared for a career in the 21st century. Most jobs in today’s high tech work environment require specialized skills and technical education beyond high school, but not necessarily a 4-year degree. In fact, the fastest growing, most promising segment of the labor market is technical employees who are educated at the two-year associate degree level. And these jobs pay great salaries; some pay as much if not more than some jobs requiring a 4-year degree. High demand jobs requiring associate degrees include nursing, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, dental hygiene and assisting, computer technology, office systems technology, engineering technology, machine tool technology, industrial electronics technology, just to name a few.
