One of the most important courses I took in school was
public speaking. I used to be somebody who would rather
die than get up in front of a group of people and talk.
Now, I talk to a lot of groups of outdoor enthusiasts and
students. If I had worked harder in school, English could
have helped me as a wildlife technician. I do a lot of record
keeping on the wildlife and habitats I manage, and that
requires a lot of writing. I use a lot of the algebra and
trigonometry I studied at Tri-County for figuring areas.
Math is important in my job.
