I don't absolutely have to be here until 7 a.m., but I
arrive by 6:30 to make sure all the equipment is ready to
run at 7 a.m. when the assembly shift starts. I’m held accountable
for any downtime on the assembly lines, so it’s to my benefit
to make sure everything is working. Usually things are ready
to go though.
Throughout the day, I’ll catch calls if a machine tears
up or is not working properly. When not troubleshooting,
I work on preventive maintenance, or work on projects that
will make the assembly process even better. I don’t have
a typical day. My job is kind of like a deck of cards, and
I’m given a different hand everyday. I know what the cards
are, but I’m never given the same hand twice. I would get
bored if it were any other way.
