Today, I would recommend to anyone interested in this field to get an Associate Degree. The degree is not required for my job, but it is preferred, and I promise that no one my age could have gotten this job without a degree, unless the person had some amazing experience. An Associate Degree is required if you are interested in moving into management, so you may as well get that degree as soon as possible!

I graduated with an Associate Degree from Tri-County Technical College in the Industrial Electronics Technology program. The program covers a broad range of topics and the instructors are great! It takes six semesters or about two years to complete the required courses.  In that short amount of time you can become an expert on installation, repair, or even design. BMW constantly sends employees to training classes, but my degree from Tri-County Technical College really helped prepare me for my job here.
