I always did well in English classes, and that helps me
a lot today. According to one of my supervisors, if you
want to be successful in the broadcasting industry, communication
is the key. I remember him saying that we can't communicate
over the air if we can't communicate inside the station.
Science kept my attention in high school, particularly Physics
for the Technologies, where I learned things about electricity
that I still use today. Math was my weak spot, though, and
I see that taking more Math courses could have helped me
in my career path. At this time, there are no requirements
for foreign language skills, but with different cultures
interacting more and more daily, the need continues to grow.
NBC even simulcasts Spanish Closed Captioning with its weekday
soap operas.
