“The direction in which education starts individuals, will determine their future lives.” -- Plato

Schools in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties of South Carolina are much involved in helping your children make wise choices regarding careers. Elementary, middle and high schools integrate career information into the established curriculum. Middle schools and high schools provide School-to-Work options for our children so that they can see what the workplace is like firsthand. School-to-Work also helps our children see clearly the connection between school and work and what they must do to be prepared for the changing needs of the workplace. And, through Tech Prep programs, high schools are helping our children learn about and prepare for the many options available in mid-level technology careers and to understand that the traditional four-year college pathway is not the only way to be prepared for success in today’s job market.

Let’s look at these options in more detail. Click on one of the categories below to learn more about each one:

“Within the next decade education will change more than it has changed since the modern school was created by the printed book over 300 years ago.... Education can no longer be confined to the schools. Every employing institution has to become a teacher.” -- Peter F. Drucker, The New Realities
