As your child plans and set goals, he needs to keep learning about his personality – who he is and what he wants in a career, not what he thinks he has to prove to someone else. Encourage him to focus on his strengths and weaknesses. This website provides a career interest assessment called Career Check, as well as links to other free online career interest inventories and personality assessments, to help him learn more about who he is and what types of careers may be appropriate for him. Encourage your child to take some of these assessments or to talk to his teachers about any assessments that may be offered at school.
