Encourage Peer Networking
If no organized support groups are available that encourage
academic success, help your child start a peer support group of
his own. This group can get together to talk about similar interests
and career goals or just to study and will help your child make
friends with those having similar interests and goals. Talk to
your child about his friends and what they are like, and tell
him not to let his friends talk him into doing something he doesn’t
want to do. As an article in The Greenville News
points out, “Remember, a good friend wants only the best for you!”
