Encourage a “Can Do” Attitude

Teach children that obstacles are a challenge, not a barrier (The Greenville News). Encourage your child to take academically challenging courses. Research shows that “challenging students (regardless of their race) works better than dumbing down their education” (Newsweek, 82). Instill in your child a “can do” attitude, that “believing is seeing,” not the other way around.
