Great things don’t just happen!

“All my life I’ve wanted to be someone; I guess I should have been more specific.” -- Jane Wagoner/Lily Tomlin (1939 - )

Why is career planning so important? Great careers don’t just happen to people -- it takes solid planning and hard work. Success doesn’t just fall out of the sky. Oh, sure, we all know someone who got lucky … who, through no design or intent of his own, managed to be successful and happy. But for most of us, it just doesn’t happen that way. Certainly then, your child’s future is too important to leave to “luck” or “chance.”

Planning can ensure we’ll get where we want to be. But that’s not anything new -- we plan everything! Vacations, grocery shopping, goals to achieve on the job, etc. Teaching our children to plan should be a part of everyday life. Why should a future career be any different?
